Now Hiring: Phyusion's Summer 2026 Communications AInnovation Interns

At Phyusion, we've always believed in making room for emerging talent. The way communications teams work is evolving quickly, and the people entering the field right now have a real opportunity to shape what comes next.

This summer, we're hiring two Communications AInnovation Interns to join our team from May 27 through August 15, 2026. It's a paid role ($20/hour, 20 hours per week), hybrid with one day per week max in NYC, or fully remote.

What you'll do

Our interns are embedded in the work we do every day. That means building and maintaining prompt libraries and AI playbooks for content workflows, testing and evaluating emerging AI tools, drafting and editing content across blog, social media, and thought leadership, producing research briefs on industry trends and new business opportunities, supporting social media coverage around events, and assisting with website updates and performance tracking.

You'll also complete a capstone project that's yours to own such as creating a mini AI-first content campaign, building an agent, or crafting an AI-enabled playbook, and present it at the end of the program.

What you'll learn

This program is designed to give you practical, portfolio-ready experience in how communications teams are working with generative AI today. You'll learn responsible AI workflows, from prompt craft to draft to human edit to fact-check. You'll develop strategic writing skills for different audiences and channels. You'll get exposure to integrated communications fundamentals like message architecture, calendar planning, and KPIs. And you'll pick up consulting skills that will serve you wherever your career goes: meeting prep, stakeholder updates, version control.

How the program works

You'll report to me, with weekly mentorship from our Founder and Chief Strategist, Samantha Stark. We believe in frequent, specific feedback, so you'll have regular check-ins, a written mid-term review, and a final evaluation. Letters of recommendation are available upon successful completion.

Who we're looking for

We're open to undergraduate and graduate students in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Digital Media, Computer Science, or related fields. The common thread is strong writing. Whatever your major, you need to be someone who can communicate clearly and think strategically.

Beyond that, we want people who are genuinely curious about how generative AI is changing the way communications teams work. Self-starters who can operate independently but also thrive with a small, fast-moving team.

Why this matters

The communications industry is changing faster than most academic programs can keep pace with. The professionals who will stand out in the years ahead are building fluency now, not just with the tools, but with the judgment to use them well. That's what this internship is designed to build.

We believe AI should amplify human expertise, not replace it. If that resonates with you, we'd love to hear from you.

How to apply

Send your resume and two writing samples to hello@phyusion.com with the subject line "Summer 2026 Internship – [Your Name]."

For writing samples, we're looking for pieces that demonstrate clear, professional communication skills. Strong examples include:

• Blog posts or short-form articles

• Social media content or captions

• Press releases, media pitches, or PR materials

• Research summaries or briefs

• Marketing copy or newsletter content

Academic writing is also acceptable if it showcases your ability to communicate persuasively and adapt your voice for different audiences. We value quality and clarity over any specific format—show us your best work.

Applications are open now with a priority deadline of February 28, 2026. We'll continue to accept applications on a rolling basis after that, but early applicants will be reviewed first.

The process: rolling review, a 20-minute interview, and a 48-hour take-home exercise for finalists.

For career centers and faculty

If you work with students who might be a great fit, we'd welcome the chance to connect. This program is paid, structured, and credit-friendly. We're also available for a 15 to 25-minute class visit or info session on AI-assisted editorial workflows. Reach out at hello@phyusion.com.

Phyusion values diversity and is committed to building an inclusive workplace environment.
